Traveling and Working Out

By sporty gee kay | June 11, 2007

I travel a lot with my company.  Any where from 2 weeks per month to the whole month!  Living out of a suitcase can be hard.  Every tried it?  If you have, you know that most hotel gyms are horrible.  I have a routine when I am at home and I love sticking to it.  When I am away, my best choice is to run.  Most people really aren’t into running.  If you are like most, these helpful moves will help you while traveling:

Curls. Go to your local Grocery store, CVS, Walgreens, etc. and grab 2 cans of soup.  Great for your biceps and you can use them for triceps as well.

Push Ups. Great for your shoulders and chest.

Crunches. Crunches are easier with your feet up on a chair and legs bent at a 90-degree angle. If there’s no chair in your hotel room, do your crunches with your feet flat on the floor and knees bent.

Squats. This is an all in one workout for your quadriceps, hamstrings, thighs and butt. You should only squat as low as your upper thighs become parallel to the floor.

Calf Raises. Simply roll up on your toes, and then return your heels to the floor.

Try doing one to three sets of each exercise with 8 to 12 repetitions.
